THE HAGER/PACKS

This is my husband Jim and me when we went to see our son, Josh, graduate from the New York Film Academy in April 2006.  Jim traveled with me on several of my research trips for A is for Appalachia and he had a great time learning about our rich mountain heritage.  He never misses an opportunity to tell someone, anyone, and everyone about that book.

Jim and Josh during our visit to The Big Apple.  Josh has an English degree and he was a good editor during my writing.  I appreciate the courage he demonstrated!  Very brave, indeed!

My daughter, Robin, and my granddaughter, Elleigh. Robin is a teacher and she went with me on several of my trips to do research for A is for Appalachia.  I appreciated her company and her encouragement.

Elleigh.  We took this photo during our summer trip to Colonial Williamsburg.  She loves to take summer field trips with me and learn about places and history. Doesn’t she make an adorable colonial child?

Bob and Oberita Hager, my parents.  This was my mom’s last annual Christmas party.  She loved writing, directing, and performing in her own productions.  This particular Christmas celebration was Christmas Around the World.  She was an amazing woman and my dearest friend.

Mom and Dad doing what they love.   On the left is the photo of Mom that is on the jacket of the book she had published.  On the right is Dad arriving home from a race in his Hager Hobbler shirt on a ridiculously hot July 4 summer day.

Our sad dog, Zoë.
